Our Downtown Services Team was established by the City of Concord to preserve the investments of the Concord Main Street Project that was completed in the fall of 2016. Duties include maintaining hardscapes, street sweeping, irrigation systems, planters, trash receptacles, and snow removal on sidewalks and hardscapes in the Main Street Project area. In an effort to increase maintenance downtown, our team has implemented a new work schedule as of July 30, 2018 to include weekends. Work hours are now 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of holidays. This new schedule provides increased coverage for routine tasks, in addition to the added responsibilities of custodial services in the parking garages and maintenance of the public squares (previously maintained by our Public Properties Division). Snow removal in the parking garages and in the squares will still be completed by a contractor. This change allows our team to provide better service to the downtown area to keep areas safe, clean, and beautiful for the community to enjoy.
