[ARCHIVED] Independence Day Information

Happy Fourth

Concord's annual Fourth of July Fireworks display will be held on the evening of Sunday, July 4, 2021. To accommodate this event, several traffic pattern modifications will occur, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on that date. South Fruit Street will be limited to one-way traffic in a northerly direction, from Clinton Street to Pleasant Street. Redington Road will be one-way in an easterly direction, from Tuttle Street to South Fruit Street. Minot Street will be one-way in a northerly direction from Pleasant Street to School Street. There will be several other minor traffic pattern modifications in the area and on the grounds of the New Hampshire Hospital as well.

Parking in the Memorial Field Parking Lot will be restricted to handicapped parking only. In order to minimize congestion, motorists not attending the fireworks are encouraged to use alternate routes during this period.

At the conclusion of the fireworks display, vehicles that have parked on the State Hospital grounds will be directed to exit easterly through the campus and onto Pleasant Street. Motorists attending the fireworks are asked to observe all posted traffic signs and parking restrictions in the area.

In the event of rain, the fireworks will be held on the evening of Monday, July 5, 2021 and the same traffic patterns will apply.

EVENT SCHEDULE:
6 p.m.: Limited food vendors open
7:45 p.m.: Nevers Band concert
9:20 p.m.: Atlas Fireworks display

City offices will be closed on Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day. Trash and recycling collection will not be postponed. Since the holiday occurs on a weekend, collection will follow its regular schedule for the entire week.
