NEW - Genealogy Club & Resources

Are you looking to discover your roots?

Whether you are new to genealogy or a seasoned researcher, we invite you to come join our new genealogy club. Share tips about searches, any great finds, and ask for help on dead-ends.

Learn various search techniques using historic Concord materials from our Concord Room collections, then research your own family tree using Ancestry Library Edition and more! Whether you are new to genealogy or a seasoned researcher, we invite you to come join this group for sharing of information and ideas. Patrons should come with some knowledge of their family tree. Bring your own device and charging cables. Chromebooks will also be available for use if you do not have a laptop.

  1. Ancestry Library Edition - https://www.ancestrylibrary.com/  Ancestry has over 20 billion genealogical records available for online browsing—available for in-library-use only.
  2. Family Search - https://www.familysearch.org/en/  FamilySearch is the largest genealogy organization in the world and includes records, resources, and services to learn more about your family history. CPL is an affiliate library.
  3. Sanborn Maps - http://sanborn.umi.com/ Large-scale maps of cities and towns in New Hampshire covering the years 1867 to 1970. If you are looking for information on historic properties in Concord, this is a great place to start. Available for in-library use (speak to a librarian for information about home access).
  4. Find a Grave - https://www.findagrave.com/ Find a Grave is the world's largest gravesite collection. You can contribute, create and discover gravesites from all over the world.
  5. Steven P. Morse - https://stevemorse.org/ This site contains tools for finding immigration records, census records, vital records, and for dealing with calendars, maps, foreign alphabets, and numerous other applications.
  6. Cyndi's List - https://www.cyndislist.com/ Cyndi’s List is a categorized and cross-referenced index to genealogical resources on the Internet.
  7. Concord History - http://www.concordnh.gov/1700/Concord-History Visit our Concord History page to find local histories, our local obituary index, historical photos, and information about using our Concord Room (local history materials).
